How To Bet The WNBA

The WNBA is the professional women’s basketball league in North America. The season is 34 games long, followed by a playoff tournament leading to the WNBA Finals. When betting on the WNBA, you will find point spreads, moneylines, and totals for every game. Some sportsbooks also offer futures odds on players and teams.

WNBA Spreads

WNBA Spreads are the most common form of betting on the WNBA. A spread is a number set by the sportsbook that Spread bettors will use to determine their wager. The favorite in a WNBA game will have a negative Spread, while the underdog will have a positive Spread.

For example, the Chicago Sky are -5 (-110) against the Seattle Storm, which means the Sky are favored to win by five points. The -110 means you would have to bet $110 to win $100. So if you thought the Sky would win by six points or more, you would bet Sky -5. If you bet on the Storm +5 (-110), you would win your bet if they lose by 4 points or less or if they win outright.

WNBA Spreads can be very profitable for bettors who do their research and understand how to handicap WNBA games.

WNBA Over/Under

WNBA Totals, also known as Over/Unders, are among the most popular ways to bet on WNBA games. Essentially, you are predicting whether the total number of points scored by both teams will be over or under a certain amount.

For example, if the WNBA Total is set at 168 and you bet the Over, you predict that the final score will be 169 or higher. Conversely, if you bet the Under, you predict that the final score will be 167 or lower. WNBA Totals are usually set in the range of 160-180, with the occasional outlier on either end.

However, there are a few factors to remember when betting a WNBA Total. First, injuries can have a significant impact on the outcome of a game. Second, WNBA games are lower-scoring than NBA games, so it is important to consider that when placing your bet. Finally, WNBA teams tend to slow down the pace of play in the second half, so consider that when making your pick.

That said, WNBA Totals can be a great way to add some extra excitement to your WNBA betting experience.

WNBA Moneyline

WNBA moneylines are a bet where the bettor picks which team will win the game outright. There is no point spread involved, so the favored team just needs to win the game by any margin. WNBA moneylines typically look like this:

Dallas Wings +165
New York Liberty -200

The plus sign (+) always indicates the underdog, and the minus sign (-) always indicates the favorite. In the example above, Dallas would be the underdog, and New York would be the favorite.

To bet on a WNBA moneyline, the bettor simply chooses which team they think will win and places a bet on that team. If the chosen team wins, then the bettor will win their wager. However, if the chosen team loses, the bettor will lose their wager.

WNBA moneylines provide an opportunity for bettors to win without having to worry about a point spread. But there’s a catch. In our example, the favorite is Liberty -200. You would have to bet $200 to win $100. However, if you bet underdog Wings +165, you would win $165 with a $100 bet.

WNBA Futures

WNBA Futures are bets placed on events that will happen in the future. For example, you could bet on who will win the WNBA Championship at the end of the season. Futures can be placed on all sorts of events, from who will win the MVP to which team will make the playoffs. WNBA Futures are a great way to get involved in the WNBA season and can provide some excellent betting opportunities. Here’s how they work…

When you bet on a WNBA Future, you are essentially placing a wager on an event that will happen at some point in the future. The odds for WNBA Futures are set by oddsmakers and can be found at most online sportsbooks. Odds can change over time as more information becomes available, so it’s important to keep an eye on them if you’re planning on betting on a WNBA Future.

To bet on a WNBA Future, you simply need to choose which event you want to bet on and then decide how much you want to wager. Once you’ve done this, you must wait for the event to take place and see if your bet wins or loses. If your bet wins, you’ll receive payouts according to the odds set when you placed your bet.

WNBA Futures can be a great way to get more involved in the WNBA season and provide some excellent betting opportunities. With a little research, you can find great value bets and potentially make good profits.
