WNBA: Las Vegas Aces vs. Chicago Sky Preview & Prediction
On Tuesday, the lone WNBA is the Commissioner’s Cup, between the Las Vegas Aces and Chicago Sky at Wintrust Arena.
What is the Commissioner’s Cup? It’s the league’s midseason championship. Basically, the WNBA does a in-season tournament where there are ten designated “tournament” games between conference opponents. The Eastern and Western Conference teams with the best record from those games meet for a “lucrative cash prize.”
In other words, this is the most important WNBA game for the players and a chance to win extra money. How much money? The winning players each take home $30,000, the runner-ups get $10,000, and the MVP of the game gets an additional $5,000.
The Commissioner’s Cup Preview & Prediction
I’m treating this game as a normal regular-season game. However, I anticipate the teams to play with more focus than in a normal game.
My Numbers: Las Vegas Aces 165.4 Chicago Sky -1.8
